Welcome to our list of things that are fluffy!

In this list, we’ve included fluffy, shaggy and furry things ranging from furniture, foods, animals and more. Generally “fluffiness” refers to a texture which is soft and airy; something that is pliable to the touch and puffs back up when released.

  • Papillon: A type of small dog with long fur. Looks similar to a pomeranian, but has longer ear fur and different colouring.
  • Shih Tzu: Small-medium sized dogs with soft, fluffy fur.
  • Poodle: A dog breed known for its curly fur.
  • Bath Bubbles: Frothy bubbles that result from the mixing of water and bodywash.
  • Dishwashing Foam: The soft bubbles that comes from mixing water and dishwashing liquid.
  • Toothpaste Foam: The minty foam from mixing water with toothpaste.
  • Pekingese: A breed of small dog with very long, soft fur.
  • Plush/Soft Toy: These are toys which have a soft outer and stuffing. Their soft, fluffy texture is used for comfort.

  • Japanese Spitz: A Japanese breed of dog with long, white fur. Featured in many social media videos.

  • Old English Sheepdog: A large breed of dog with long, fluffy fur that is commonly white and grey.
  • Norfolk Terrier: A small, British breed of dog. Has medium-length fur and is the smallest of the working terriers.
  • Affenpinscher: Also known as the Monkey Terrier. A small breed of dog with black, thin, fluffy fur.
  • Cairn Terrier: One of the earliest working dogs. A small dog with soft, fluffy fur.

  • Maine Coon: The largest domesticated cat breed. A type of cat with long, fluffy fur. Native to Maine, which it is named after.
  • British Shorthair: A pedigree domestic of cat witha short, dense coat.
  • Maltese: A small dog with long, soft fur. Commonly white, sometimes with patches of cream.
  • Collie: A breed of dog used for herding. Medium-sized with medium to long fur – with patches of white and black colouring.
  • Malamute: A large dog breed with thick, fluffy fur. Originally bred for their strength and endurance, and ideally suited to cold climates.
  • Keeshond: A medium-sized dog breed with extremely dense, fluffy fur (a two-layer coat) which is usually grey, white and black.
  • Havanese: A small breed of dog with extremely long hair. Also known as “Havana Silk Dogs” with a sturdy body curious personality.
  • Shetland Sheepdog: Also known as the Sheltie. A type of herding dog which is medium-large sized, with a long, fluffy collar of hair. Commonly black, tan and white in colour.
  • Newfoundland: A large breed of working dog that is usually black, brown or black and white. Has a shaggy coat.
  • Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier: A large terrier from Ireland. Has a soft, silky, wavy coat that is usually cream/tan-coloured.
  • Great Pyrenees: Also known as the Pyrenean Mountain Dog. A large breed of dog that is used to guard livestock.
  • Barbet: A medium-sized water dog. Has curly black fur and is a water dog.
  • Cockapoo: A breed that is a mix between Cocker Spaniels and Poodles. Generally medium-sized and easy to train. Their appearance can vary a lot, but their fur is generally curly and on the longish side.
  • Bernese Mountain Dog: A large dog with black, brown and white colouring.
  • Bearded Collie: A breed of herding dog with very long fur. Generally black and white in colour and is a popular choice for families.
  • Samoyed: A large breed of herding dog with thick, fluffy white coats. Popular as companion animals due to their white fur.
  • Duckling: Baby ducks are covered in a soft, fluffy yellow down.
  • Chow Chow: A large Chinese breed of dog with a densely-packed coat. Usually tan, cream, white and light brown in colour.
  • Yorkshire Terrier: A small dog breed with very long hair. A popular companion and show dog, commonly with black and brown colouring.
  • Persian Cat: A long-haired, fluffy cat with a short muzzle and white coat. Also known as the “Shiraz cat”.
  • Alpaca: A type of camelid that are commonly confused with llamas. They have dense, fluffy coats and are popular with tourists because of their expressive faces.
  • Llama: Commonly confused with alpacas. Have long, shaggy coats and are farmed for their wool.
  • Baby Seal: Baby seals are covered in a thick, fluffy down all over their bodies.
  • Sable: A small species of carnivorous mammal that is unethically farmed for their fur.
  • Sloth: Hairy mammals that are famous for their slow-movements.
  • Polar Bear: Shaggy white bears that live in icy, polar climates and are carnivorous.
  • Black Bear: This can refer to either the American black bear or the Asian black bear. Both types of bear are mostly black and have thick, shaggy fur (the Asian black bear more so than the American).
  • Chinchilla: A type of large rodent with large ears, a fluffy grey body and a long, soft tail. Known and loved for being particularly round.
  • Skunk: A black and white mammal that is famed for its terrible smell.
  • Mink: A semiaquatic mammal that is unethically farmed for its soft fur (used in fashion as well as the beauty and arts industry for coats, clothing, eyelashes and paintbrushes).
  • Panda: Also known as the giant panda or panda bear. A large bear known for its distinctive black and white colouring and for eating bamboo.
  • Frosting: A type of decorative topping most commonly used on cakes and other baked goods. Most frosting is light, sugary and fluffy.
  • Tree Kangaroo: A type of medium-sized marsupial that lives in trees. They live in tropical rainforests and have brown and cream-coloured fur.
  • Orangutan: A species of great ape native to Indonesia and Malaysia. They have long, shaggy, reddish-brown fur and are known for their curiosity and playfulness.
  • Fox: A small omnivorous mammal with pointed, triangular ears and reddish fur. Known for hunting hens/chickens, and are unethically hunted for sport using dogs and horses.
  • American Eskimo: A dog with long, fluffy fur that is a popular companion dog.
  • Arctic Fox: Also known as the white fox, polar fox and snow fox. A species of fox with white fur that lives in icy, arctic climates.
  • Wombat: Short, stout marsupials with short brown fur. Known for their placid nature, cuteness, and cube-shaped poo.
  • Koala: Also known as koala bears (although they are not bears). A smallish grey marsupial with tufty ears. Now considered functionally extinct after the Australian bushfires thanks to the Morrison government.
  • Quokka: A small brown marsupial that is generally found on Rottnest Island. Known for their friendly, peaceful nature.
  • Bilby: Also known as rabbit-bandicoots (although they are not either). Small marsupials that are associated with Easter in Australia.
  • Japanese Pancake: A type of pancake that originated from Japan that is extremely fluffy and cake-like.
  • Pancake:  Also known as hotcake, griddlecake or flapjacks. A thin, flat cake that is cooked in a pan rather than being baked in the oven. Commonly eaten as a breakfast food.
  • Red Panda: A smallish mammal that looks like a red racoon. Has a long, thick tail, reddish-brown fur and black legs. Also known as the lesser panda or red bear cat.
  • Sugar Glider: A nocturnal marsupial with a preference for sugary foods and the ability to glide through the air using the webbing between its front and back legs.
  • Guinea Pig: A type of rodent with a log-shaped body and small legs. Popular as a pet as they are small, cute, don’t take up much room or resources, and are quiet.
  • Baby Penguin: Baby penguins are covered in fluffy down (which is usually grey).
  • Siberian Cat: A domestic cat native to Russia. Medium to large in size, with thick, dense fur.
  • Raccoon: A mammal with a “masked”face, a striped tail and grey body. Known for rummaging through and stealing from bins.
  • Angora Rabbit: A breed of domestic rabbit which is bred and unethically farmed for its long white fur.

  • Vulpix: A Pokemon with reddish fur and multiple fluffy tails.
  • Ninetales: The evolved version of the Pokemon Vulpix. Looks like a white wolf with nine large fluffy tails.
  • Manx (cat): Manx can also be spelled Manks. A type of cat with a stubby tail and striped fur.
  • Turkish Angora (cat): A domestic cat with very long white fur.
  • Scottish Fold: A domestic cat with ears that fold down over the head. Has very dense fur.
  • Venonat: A type of Pokemon which looks like a ball of densely-packed purple fur.

  • American Fuzzy Lop: A breed of rabbit which is similar in appearance to the Holland Lop, but with longer fur.
  • Mexican Cottontail: A type of rabbit with a very soft, tufty tail.
  • American Curl: A breed of cat with ears that curl gently backwards. Has longish fur which is commonly striped.
  • Numbat: A small marsupial native to Western Australia. Known for its striped fur.
  • Russian Blue: A breed of domestic cat which comes in shades of grey. Has short, dense fur that stands out from the body rather than laying flat.
  • Mankey: A Pokemon that looks similar to an extremely fluffy monkey.
  • Primeape: The Pokemon that evolves from Mankey.
  • Cashmere Lop: A rabbit with long, thick fur.

  • Earflap Hat: A type of hat that has flaps extending over the ears and a fluffy interior lining.

  • Terrycloth: Also known as terry cotton, terry towel, terry or towelling. A woven fabric with many loops of thread, which is able to absorb a lot of water.
  • Japanese Cheesecake: A type of cheesecake that is very fluffy, soft, and has a wobbly texture.

  • Throw:  A type of small blanket, used for comfort more than warmth.
  • Pillow: A soft sleeping aid that supports the head and neck during rest.
  • Cushion:  Similar to a pillow, but more for decorative purposes than for actual support of the body. Tends to be firmer and smaller than a pillow, and have more textured exteriors.
  • Bathrobe: a soft robe made of terrycloth to keep warm and absorb water after a shower.
  • Snow: Falling snow and loosely packed snow is very soft to the touch.
  • Fountain Grasses: Ornamental grasses that are grown for decoration. They usually have very long stalks and fluffy tips.
  • Lamb’s Ears (plant): Also known as woolly hedgenettle. A plant with soft, furry leaves (almost velvety to the touch).
  • Dusty Miller: A species of plant in the sunflower family. Popular as an ornamental plant and has soft, velvety leaves.
